Description
ASTM B166 Inconel 600 bar is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy, mainly composed of nickel (≥72%), chromium (14-17%), iron (6-10%), and contains impurities such as carbon (≤0.15%) and manganese (≤1.0%). It is known for its excellent corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and strength in high temperature environments. It can still maintain excellent stability under extreme conditions and can withstand a variety of corrosive media, including oxidants and reductants.
In addition to its good performance at high temperatures, Inconel 600 bar also has excellent mechanical properties, high strength and good machinability, so it is widely used in many markets such as chemical and food processing, power generation, furnace components, etc.
To ensure the high performance of Inconel 600 bar, the product tests produced by the Gnee plant include mechanical property testing, hardness testing, tensile testing, material property inspection, micro and macro testing, chemical testing/spectral analysis, and intergranular corrosion testing.

We provide Inconel 600 Bar surface treatment services
- Polishing treatment
Process: including mechanical polishing, chemical polishing and electrolytic polishing, removing surface oxide scale and defects, reducing roughness to Ra 0.2-0.4 microns. - Nickel plating treatment
Process: Form a 5-50 micron nickel plating layer by electroplating or chemical plating to enhance corrosion resistance and surface hardness. - Heat treatment
Annealing: 980-1100°C to eliminate stress and increase toughness.
Solution treatment: 1150-1200°C to improve corrosion resistance and reduce high-temperature oxidation rate by 10%-20%. - Surface state classification
Black skin bar: untreated, retains the black oxide scale after cold processing, corrosion-resistant and low cost, suitable for high temperature and corrosive environment.
Bright bar: polished and pickled, the surface is smooth and beautiful, suitable for fields requiring high surface quality.
Features And Advantages
Why Is Inconel 600 Bar A High Performance Alloy? The high chromium content of Inconel 600 makes its oxidation resistance much higher than that of pure nickel, and its high nickel content has good tolerance and corrosion resistance under reducing conditions.
- Corrosion-resistant and worry-free: resistant to acid/alkali/salt/chloride corrosion, especially resistant to stress corrosion cracking, reducing the risk of leakage in chemical and marine scenarios.
- Reliable at high temperatures: resistant to oxidation below 1093℃, stable long-term service strength at 700℃, suitable for high-temperature equipment such as heat treatment furnaces and boilers.
- Easy to process and durable: high strength (tensile strength ≥550MPa) and good plasticity (elongation ≥30%), weldable/cuttable, complex workpieces can also be formed, reducing the scrap rate.
- Application is not picky about scenarios: nuclear power, chemical industry, and aviation can all be used, from pressure vessels to high-temperature bolts, a set of materials to solve the needs of multiple scenarios.
- Long-term cost saving: fatigue-resistant and oxidation-resistant, life is 3-5 years longer than ordinary alloys, reducing the frequency of downtime and replacement, and the overall maintenance cost is lower.
