Description

Inconel 718 Plate is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant nickel-chromium alloy with excellent performance at elevated temperatures (up to 700°C/1292°F). Composed mainly of nickel (50-55%) and chromium (17-21%), it also contains molybdenum, niobium, aluminum, and titanium.

Inconel 718 is particularly noted for its ability to maintain high tensile and yield strength, along with excellent fatigue and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 700°C (1292°F). It’s used in aerospace, power generation, and chemical processing industries for turbine engines, exhaust systems, and high-temperature components. It is recognized by ASTM B637 and UNS N07718.

FAQ

Below are some frequently asked questions about Alloy 718 sheet. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

Hot working: temperature range 1120~900℃, rapid cooling + timely annealing is required after processing
Cold working: needs to be carried out after solution treatment, because of the high work hardening rate, it is recommended to match with intermediate annealing.
Heat treatment: the core process is solution treatment + double aging, and high strength is achieved by precipitating γ” phase.

High temperature alloy 718: used for aircraft engines, nuclear power (high temperature corrosion resistance), expensive
Mold steel 718: used for plastic molds (such as mobile phone cases, auto parts), cheap
Differentiation: Look at the purpose – choose high temperature alloy for high temperature environment, and choose mold steel for mold making.

Use special welding wire (such as ERNiFeCr-2), ordinary welding wire is easy to crack. Aging treatment is required after welding
