Basic Information Of Inconel 600 Product
The following is the product specifications of Alloy 600 that Gnee can provide. If you need other information, please contact us for more information.
Description
Inconel 600 is a high-performance nickel-chromium alloy designed for applications requiring exceptional resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and high-temperature strength. Composed primarily of 72% nickel, 14-17% chromium, and 6-10% iron, Inconel 600 is widely used in environments that involve temperatures up to 2,000°F (1,093°C).
It is particularly effective in applications exposed to corrosive gases, steam, and acidic environments. For example, in the aerospace industry, it is used for turbine blades, while in the chemical processing sector, it serves in heat exchangers and reactors due to its ability to resist sulfur compounds and chlorides.
Unlike other alloys, Inconel 600 maintains its non-magnetic properties even after heat treatment, which makes it suitable for sensitive applications like nuclear power generation. Its excellent weldability and formability also make it a versatile material for manufacturing complex components.

What are the features of Inconel 600?
Inconel 600 is a high temperature alloy known for its excellent comprehensive properties.

Extreme temperature performance
Full corrosion resistance

Excellent processing adaptability
Processing of Inconel 600
When processing Inconel 600, the following are precautions
Hot working
Can be done in the range of 870-1230°C (1600-2250°F) (e.g. forging, extrusion), avoid staying too long in the temperature range where grains tend to grow rapidly (about 650-870°C / 1200-1600°F). Solution annealing is usually required after processing.
Cold working
Can be done smoothly (e.g. rolling, drawing, spinning), but requires more power than carbon steel or austenitic stainless steel. Cold working will significantly harden the material, and annealing may be required in between.
Machining
The workability of the solution annealed state is similar to that of austenitic stainless steel (such as 304), but it is more sticky and tougher, and will produce work hardening. It is recommended to use rigid equipment, sharp carbide tools, slow and heavy feed, and sufficient coolant. The cold worked state is harder and more difficult to machine.
Welding
Good weldability. Common methods are GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), SMAW (electrode). It is recommended to use welding consumables with matching composition (such as ERNiCrFe-5 . Take care to prevent overheating and grain growth during welding. Heat treatment is usually not required after welding.
