Basic Information Of Inconel 600 Product

The following is the product specifications of Alloy 600 that Gnee can provide. If you need other information, please contact us for more information.

Description

Inconel 600 is a high-performance nickel-chromium alloy designed for applications requiring exceptional resistance to oxidation, corrosion, and high-temperature strength. Composed primarily of 72% nickel, 14-17% chromium, and 6-10% iron, Inconel 600 is widely used in environments that involve temperatures up to 2,000°F (1,093°C).

It is particularly effective in applications exposed to corrosive gases, steam, and acidic environments. For example, in the aerospace industry, it is used for turbine blades, while in the chemical processing sector, it serves in heat exchangers and reactors due to its ability to resist sulfur compounds and chlorides.

Unlike other alloys, Inconel 600 maintains its non-magnetic properties even after heat treatment, which makes it suitable for sensitive applications like nuclear power generation. Its excellent weldability and formability also make it a versatile material for manufacturing complex components.

FAQ

Below are some frequently asked questions about Inconel 600. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us.

It is paramagnetic (non-ferromagnetic) from room temperature to 600°C.
The nickel-based austenite structure (γ phase) remains stable above the Curie temperature (≈317°C), and the magnetic permeability (μ) is always ≤1.02. Therefore, it is suitable for sensitive scenarios such as nuclear reactor control rods and electromagnetic instruments to avoid hysteresis losses.

Nickel-chromium-iron solid solution strengthened high-temperature alloy. Inconel 600 alloy has high temperature strength and corrosion resistance, with a melting point of 1354–1413°C. It is mainly used in gas turbine combustion chambers, alkali liquid evaporators, nuclear-grade heat exchange tubes, etc.

Yes, the two are two names for the same material.
The chemical composition is exactly the same: (Ni≥72%, Cr:14–17%, Fe:6–10%).
All conform to unified standards: UNS N06600, DIN 2.4816, ASTM B168
