Description
Nickel 200 is a commercially pure nickel alloy, consisting of 99.6% nickel, with trace amounts of iron, carbon, and other elements. It is known for its excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in alkaline environments, as well as its high thermal and electrical conductivity. Unlike stainless steel, which contains chromium, Nickel 200 maintains its resistance to corrosion in reducing environments, such as hydrochloric acid, and has a high degree of resistance to caustic soda and other alkaline solutions.
It also performs well at both low temperatures (down to -200°C) and elevated temperatures up to 600°C. This makes it ideal for applications like heat exchangers, reactor vessels in chemical processing, and electrical components. Nickel 200’s low magnetic permeability and high strength make it useful in the aerospace and electronic industries.
